Kevin gave us a very entertaining and informative talk on preserving the harvest from our gardens using his experience to produce and provide food all year from his five acres for his family of five. Many of his slides showed his children enthusiastically getting involved in the different processes. Besides jam and chutney this also included dehydrating, canning, fermenting and preserving meat.

Kevin a qualified Carpenter also makes a range of wooden products for the garden and homestead including beehives for his apiary. His best seller is his gooseberry picker, which is on the second table in the picture below, this you use to strip the berries off the stem without getting your fingers pricked. He brought a selection of his products with him for our members to purchase.

You can see and purchase his full range from his blog: http://www.englishhomestead.com/
