Nicola’s talk and next meeting.

A record number of members turned out for our April talk by Nicola Hope. She explained how she worked following Organic principles in her client’s gardens and within her garden. How to establish a border using ‘No Dig’ with its benefits in maintaining soil structure and fertility was shown with pictures over the season as it developed.

 Poly Culture within horticulture was explained with links to Alice Fowler and her work in this field.

 Nicola is an enthusiastic trustee of Garden Organic she promoted their helpline for members along with the Heritage Seed Library they maintain.

Our next meeting is on May 18th at 1.45 

Potatoes, Peppers and Poisons and Petunias given by Paul Williams – Paul is a writer for consumer magazines, and national newspapers; author; sound broadcaster: local; lecturer. The afternoon includes a Garden Market and Plant sale.

At the Garden Market, the doors will open at 1.45 pm, with the garden talk starting at 2.30. Local nurseries and members will have stalls selling plants.

 Tea and cakes for refreshments and you will also be able to buy cakes, preserves, jams and hopefully some honey if the bees are kind.
