Bridgewater.

Our coach trip to RHS Bridgewater was the last of our garden visits this summer. Set the grounds of what was  Worsley New Hall, Worsley, Salford the RHS are in the still early stages of developing a beautiful, informative and diverse site for old (!) and new gardeners alike.

The planting of the newly established beds reflected the loose and informal planting now favoured, with large areas provided for pollinators and native plants.
In the Garge walled garden,t local community groups have established their own growing spaces demonstrating the cultivation of a wide range of edible crops in easy access raised beds and containers.

For the children like me there was the Blue Peter Garden, chickens and bees!I

The weather was kind, the company good and the pizzas from the Stable Care absolutely delicious!

All in all, a fabulous day. It will be interesting to see how the project progresses, including the Chinese river valley and it’s newly constructed Pagoda.
