Tales From The Potting Shed by Nicola Hope. January 21st.

On Saturday 35 members enjoyed one of the most inspiring talks we have received at the club. Nicola shared her experiences and knowledge with interesting and occasional insights, sometimes humorous during her time working in some very famous estate gardens.
She told us of her early experience as an assistant gardener at Highgrove for the then, HRH Prince of Wales. Afterwards, she studied Organic Horticulture at Pershore College. She later held gardening positions at Sting’s Lake House, nr Salisbury, The Abbey House Malmesbury and for leading designer Anoushka Hempel’s Cole Park. Her last full-time role was as head gardener in a Cotswold garden. She now works in a freelance capacity providing advice and garden design for clients.
One interesting incident she related to us was when working for Sting having finished her working day she went to go home only to find Madonna and her then-husband at the time Guy Ritchie having a heated argument just where her bicycle was parked.

She shared many useful gardening tips during her excellent presentation, I know for sure the committee will be looking to book Nicola again.
