The Court is a beautiful Tudor House north of Droitwich reached through narrow, twisting lanes in lovely countryside; perhaps not so well known as other areas of the county. Like many other local country houses of that era there are links to the Gunpowder Plot! It is surrounded by 2 acres of grounds-formal lawn and herbaceous borders, a large and productive vegetable garden, orchard, aviary, chickens- everything! To the front of the house is a beautiful lake, complete with ducks and Koi Carp and an area of topiary. The planting is mainly informal with interesting features around every corner and obviously tended by owners who love their garden.
Stuart and Diana were excellent hosts, giving a friendly and informative tour of the grounds. The afternoon was completed by excellent refreshments- tea and cake- which we managed to finish just as the heavens opened!
I think I can speak for all of us in saying we had a lovely afternoon at Badge Court- for further information and visiting arrangements please see the NGS Yellow Book, Worcestershire.
